Sample Research Proposal Paper on Evidence Based Practice Proposal

Cases of diabetes have been on the rise over the years yet diabetes can be easily prevented. It is important to take steps to prevent diabetes through a healthy lifestyle by developing a proper platform for diet regulation. This can be achieved through having a proper diet which is well balanced with all categories of food the body needs included. Proper diet also entails eating the right portions of food to prevent overeating or under eating. Such food selection and rationing must be based on proven scientific model aimed at promoting the health of the patients (Thomson, Ireland & Williamson, 2008)

Taking steps to prevent diabetes from affecting many patients is important. It does not mean that having a healthy nutrition will make a patient deprive him or herself some privileges. It calls for adopting a healthy nutrition regime to boost body energy (Govindi & Myers, 2005).

Objectives

The main objective of this proposal is to promote a healthy living style in order to prevent the increasing occurrence of diabetes. This will be important in preventing the increasing occurrence of diabetes having in mind that it is a disease caused by the lifestyle of people. The other aim of this proposal is to devise better strategies that can be developed to encourage people to adopt proper nutrition that will help in reducing the number of patients who are diagnosed with diabetes in the hospitals yet they are in a position of reducing the occurrence of diabetes.

Strategies

The method that can be used to achieve this is through developing sensitization campaigns in which nurses are expected to give advice to the patients on how to live a healthy lifestyle. They are expected to advice the foods which they are expected to eat. Nurses can achieve this through attending to the patients especially the outpatients who come to the hospital daily. They can do this through giving the patients advice on the meals that they are supposed to take and the kind of lifestyle they should live for example if they are supposed to be doing exercise daily, (Polanski , 2012).

The other practice that the nurses can use to reach out to many people on living a healthy lifestyle to prevent the incidences of diabetes is through the use of visual adverts within the hospitals. The visual ads portray a better message since patients will have to come across it every day while at the hospitals. This can be used for both inpatients and also the outpatients. The impact of this is that the information will reach a large group of people as expected within the hospital vicinity (Govindi & Myers, 2005).

Conclusion

In conclusion, the proposal of implementing a proper diet as a way of preventing diabetes is important as it helps to address this increasing issue. It is important to devise significant strategies to help ensure that the rising cases of diabetes are fought against. Fightingdiabetes is not upon the nurses only but it also involves patient’scooperation. Therefore efforts should also be made to ensure that the patients have a positive attitude towards fighting the rising cases of diabetes within their hospitals. This can only be done through ensuring that the patients live a healthy lifestyle.
